ABOUT THE COOK

photos by Alivia Sobey Photography

Hello! I appreciate you taking the time to learn a little bit more about me! My name is Savannah and I am a 22 year old plant, animal, art, but most importantly – food lover residing in Southern Maine. In early 2017, I decided to begin documenting my experience with learning how to cook. I did so by bringing many flavors and foods together that I did not typically see in the same meal. What started out as a hobby that I did from time to time became something I wanted to do constantly: cook, eat, tell everyone all about it.

I can now say that cooking has become my life force and I love it the most! It has given me a level of confidence that I was unaware existed within me. My mission with this website is to do the same for you: empower you to cut up some vegetables, make a fun new sauce for pasta (or whatever it may be!) – because you never know what diving into the curiosity you have towards a tiny little passion can do for you.

Let me break down my name for you: SAVORY SERVINGS WITH SAV

  • Alliteration is so COOL.
  • I love savory food more than anything else. I serve up something sweet from time to time, but most of the time you’re going to see recipes with a pinch of salt, sprinkle of nutritional yeast and chopped up herbs more than sugar around here.
  • I don’t typically make snack-sized anything. I love big dinners, lunches that will tie you over for hours, plentiful servings here only.
  • Sav is my nickname that found it’s way to me the past few years. It’s personal, and is my truest form, represented. My intention is for you to feel like you are enhancing your cooking experience with me, not because of me. Connection is crucial and I know that I don’t always feel connected to brands and people unless I know what they’re all about!

I look forward to our journey together and I’m happy you’re here. Stay tuned for more recipes, reviews, and vibrant talks with me!
